•Jean Dominique asks Daniel Whitman, the press officer of the US Embassy in Haiti, about the United States' interest, involvement, and intervention in Haiti. Whitman claims that visits of US policymakers and politicians are in the interest of being good friends and good neighbors. Dominique asks why the USAID granted a contract to a private Canadian firm to make Haitian electoral cards, and the suspicion of Haitian people that the US was "pre-fabricating" and manipulating the Haitian elections through electronic voting and other means. They discuss the deployment to US troops as part of Exercise Fairwinds, a humanitiarian mission. Whitman solemnly swears that the US does not have a preferred candidate and they are not meddling in Haiti's elections, and denies that conflicts between Republicans and Democrats in the US play out at the US Embassy in Haiti.
